India and Bangladesh will be touring Sri Lanka for tri-series. All the matches will be played at R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo.
India have rested their senior players like Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Hardik Pandya. Rohit Sharma will lead team India with Shikhar Dhawan as vice-captain.
For Sri Lanka Angelo Mathews, Shehan Madushanka and Asela Gunaratne will miss the series due to injuries. Dinesh Chandimal will lead the side.
Shakib Al Hasan has been ruled out of the Bangladesh squad due to the finger injury he suffered in January. Mahmudullah will lead Bangladesh in his absence.
This means all vice-captains from India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will be leading their respective nations. Suresh Raina who made a promising comeback in the T20I series against South Africa will look to carry the same form ahead. Rishabh Pant will also look to grab the opportunity after being dropped from the side last year. India will face Sri Lanka in the opening match of the series on March 6.
In terms of ICC rankings, India (at present, No. 3) are ranked above their competitors. Sri Lanka occupy the eighth spot, whereas Bangladesh are ranked tenth.
