Sri Lanka beat India by 5 wickets in first T20I

Colombo: The inexperienced Indian bowling attack was left stunned by Kusal Perera's brutal onslaught as Sri Lanka romped to a five-wicket win in the Nidahas T20 Trophy opener on Tuesday.

In the absence of senior bowlers, the Indian attack looked pedestrian as Sri Lanka chased down a stiff 175-run target with nine balls to spare. Kusal ended with a match-winning 66 off 37 balls.

At the pimgentation ceremony, Kusal Perera said, “This is my best innings, but I had better innings as well.”

At the other end of the spectrum, Thisara Perera provided the rapidfire finish with 22 runs from 10 balls to nullify India’s 174/5 in the first innings which was instigated by Shikhar Dhawan’s 90.

Australian women cricket team won the first ODI of three-match series against India by eight wickets at Reliance Stadium, Vadodara, on Monday. Opting to bat first, India’s opening batting order collapsed and Pooja Vastrakar scored the maiden half-century of her ODI career, thus becoming the first Indian woman player to hit a fifty at number nine. The National Basketball Association (NBA) today announced the first-ever broadcasts of live NBA games in India during primetime. From March 11 – April 8, 2018, the NBA will schedule a weekly game for live primetime broadcast in India every Sunday at 10:00 p.m. India Standard Time (IST) on Sony SIX, Sony SIX HD, Sony TEN 3 and Sony TEN 3 HD.
