What are some mind-blowing facts about cricket?

  • MS Dhoni has never scored a century outside Asia. ( Both in Tests and ODIs) (Unbelievable isn't it!!)
  • Jonathan Trott has never hit a six in his test career!!
  • England is the only team to have lost a 60-over final (1979 WC Final), 50-over Final (1992 world cup) and 20-over ODI final (2013 Champions trophy).
  • Ishant Sharma is responsible for all the three highest scores made by a batsman against India in 21st century.
A) Edgbaston 2011- Ishant Sharma drops
Alastair Cook scored 294 in that match.
B) Sydney 2012- Ishant Sharma drops Michael Clarke.
Michael Clarke scored 329*
C) Wellington 2014- Ishant Sharma drops
Brendon McCullum- He Scored 302.
  • Sachin Tendulkar- A Bowling Feat.
Sachin is the only bowler who defended 6 or lesser runs in a last over of a match two times.
A) 1993 vs SA, SA required 6 runs in last over, India won by 2 runs.
B) 1997 vs Aus, Aus required 6 runs in last over, India won by 5 runs.
As wonderful as this is, it was his first and only over in both the matches.
  • Longest career without Man of the Match.
Nayan Mongia (140 ODIs) and Syed Kirmani (88 Tests) never received Man of the Match in their Long Career.
  • Deja Vu: India won the World Cup in 1983 and three years later, in 1986 the Indian side also won it's first ever test match at Lord's. This pattern repeated 28 years later, when India won their Second World Cup in 2011. They also won their second ever test match at Lord's three years later in 2014.
  • Is Cricket a truly gentleman's game:
The only cricketer who was hanged for a murder Leslie Hylton of West Indies. Hylton was held guilty of murdering his wife Laurlene.
Thanks :)

INDW vs AUSW, 1st ODI: Australia beat India by eight wickets

Australian women cricket team won the first ODI of three-match series against India by eight wickets at Reliance Stadium, Vadodara, on Monday. Opting to bat first, India’s opening batting order collapsed and Pooja Vastrakar scored the maiden half-century of her ODI career, thus becoming the first Indian woman player to hit a fifty at number nine. After winning the toss, stand-in skipper Harmanpreet Kaur opted to bat and the decision backfired as Indian team lost half of their batters even before reaching the 100-run mark. However, India’s lower batting order stabilised the innings, but that was too late. Bowler Pooja Vastrakar, along with wicket-keeper batswoman Sushma Verma, put a 76-run partnership for the eighth wicket. Vastrakar scored the maiden half-century of her ODI career and in her 51-run knock, she hit one six and seven boundaries. Other than Vastrakar, Sushma Verma (41) and Punam Raut (37) were the only Indian batters who were able to tackle the Australi...
